I LOVE going to parties and just for this month of April itself, I’ve been to three of my school playmates’ birthday parties. I’ll be really excited and look forward to the parties.
And Mommy & Daddy will remind each other not to forget to bring the digital camera but alas! sometimes not even one photo was taken. Why Daddy Why? Why Mommy Why?
Daddy was saying maybe when I’m a little older, I can play more independently with the other kids, then and only then can both Daddy & Mommy “enjoy” the parties. They complain they have to keep an eye out for me in case I get into mischief, or ensure that I’m drinking enough water etc., and have little time to socialize with the other parents.
But both Daddy & Mommy are very proud that I join in the games and activities now, compared to the first party I was invited to. It was Marin-chan’s birthday party and see, how far I stood behind the other kids even though I was curious to know what was going on. I was 2 years 2 months old then….

My First Sunnies
I noticed that my Daddy and Mommy have their own sunglasses, and will put them on when it’s very bright. So I insisted to have my own sunnies to be placed together with theirs in a special compartment near the dashboard. I think these sunnies were part of the party pack given by one of my playschool mates (Karin?) during her birthday. They look a little girly, huh?
When it’s bright outside, I’ll insist on putting on my sunnies then ask Mommy to take a picture with her handphone, and will bug Mommy to show me the photos taken. What a vain little boy I’ve become huh.

My good friend Fuhta from Japan
Almost every year, our dear family friend Kachan will visit us during Chinese New Year.
She brought along her eldest grandson, Sohta (when he was around 5-6 years old) in 2006 - I was in my Mommy's tummy at that time...hehehe. Then in 2007 Kachan brought her 2nd grandson, Yohta who was around 4-5 years old then and I was only 5 months old. We went to the bird park together - although I was sleeping in the baby carrier most of the time! See how small I was then.
This year, Kachan brought along Fuhta (he turns 5 years old in March) and my time with him is most memorable.
See how well we bonded, strolling inside the shopping mall (Pavilion)?
Or while taking a walk in the park at Lake Titiwangsa?
Or while sitting in the horse carriage?
We got on the Hop-On Hop-Off bus & I was so thrilled to be on it.
In case you didn't know, I aspire to be a bus driver.
And I even found courage to ride horse back all by myself!
Daddy says the horses there are ponies coz' they're much shorter and smaller than the one we rode at Batu Ferringhi, Penang. See how different they are!
Mommy: Come to think of it - it was quite dangerous for Bryan to ride horse / pony without ay safety helmet etc...The trainer was just pulling along the pony. Bryan could have fallen off the pony...Gasp!
I was very upset when Fuhta had to leave for Japan. I know one Japanese word though. "KONNICHIWA" (hello, good afternoon).
Mommy: We've heard Bryan saying "BAKA" (stupid, idiot, fool). Double gasp!
Must have picked it up from his playschool mate Mitsu. Kids do say the darnest thing...
Chinese New Year (Part 2)
Jimai & Damai came back to celebrate Chinese New Year with us.
We missed you, LLMM!!
They got me this gold Chinese New Year costume which fits me perfectly
On the 2nd day of CNY, we had dim-sum lunch with Kau Kung & family at Shangri-la Hotel.
Jimai loves this pic of me, so I'm posting it up.
After a long lunch, we went out to the hotel's compound and I got to go into a maze. I was so happy following Har Dey that I wanted to do it again and again.
CNY wouldn't be CNY without any gambling...hehehe.
It must be a good year ahead for Daddy coz' he was the biggest winner!

Although I was disruptive at times, I found new playmates, Jimai and Damai, who were more than happy to play with me.
Creative Jimai who made a cute cute red and white train (or was it bus) with PlayDoh.
I was very sad when they left for Dubai, in the old rickety-rackety yellow taxi ....and took along my Har Dey too.

Chinese New Year
This year, we went back to Penang 4 days before the 1st day of Chinese New Year. I was very happy to see Yeh Yeh and Granny, and couldn't wait to play with my cousin Kenneth Ko Ko. I'd be asking "Where's Kenneth Ko Ko?" "Why is Kenneth Ko Ko soooooo slow?" (complaining while waiting for Kenneth's arrival)
With Yeh Yeh, Granny & Daddy's Childhood Friend, Uncle Mor Ku

When Kenneth Ko Ko and family came over, I was so happy to share my toys and play with Kenneth Ko Ko. The others were all coo-cooing over baby Dylan, which was fine with me coz' I had a playmate!
At times Kenneth Ko Ko gets tired of me following him around, or pestering him to play but Mommy says I'm at a beautiful age - I don't know the meaning of "being rejected"
I think everyone was fussing over baby Dylan and busy eating the yummy yummy food that Granny made, that we forgot to take a group photo.
So here are some random pictures taken:-

Newest addition to our family???
I do wish to have a Ti Ti (little brother) like baby Dylan though...

Here's me with Yeh Yeh rolling mandarin oranges "Kam" (gold) for a prosperous year ahead!
And not forgetting, flowers for Mommy on Valentine's Day!

"Social butterfly"
I'm the only child in the family so whenever I meet other kids, I love following their actions and join in whatever they're doing. My playschool principal told Mommy that I'll follow the "more active kids" and eventually end up in the naughty chair when the other kid is being punished.
After Christmas, we went back to Penang with Granny & Yeh Yeh.
We went to this surprise birthday party held for Granny's uncle who turned 70 years old and during this party, I was seated with this Ko-ko (mommy doesn't remember his name....) He's 7 or 8 years old and was very nice to me. See how well we played together?
During New Year's Eve, my cousin Kenneth and his family came over for dinner at Granny & Yeh Yeh's house. I was more than happy to share my toys with Kenneth Ko-ko.
See, all of us including baby Dylan were watching TV at the same time.
Mommy said how nice if she had baby Dylan without going through the hardships of pregnancy and labor!!
I had such a great time in Penang, and when it was time to leave, it was just the three of us again - Daddy, Mommy and me. Sigh!
What a sociable little boy I've turned out to be, huh.

A Chinese X'mas Party
Previous years, we had turkey, lamb, beef for X'mas but everyone would dread the leftovers which will be plenty especially when we had turkey. So this year, it was to be a "Chinese" X'mas party with mee hoon, curry chicken, mixed vegetables, "lo bak" (fried stuffed pork) with homemade yule log cake.
After dinner, everyone played BINGO game. I helped rolling out the balls and calling out the numbers. But I got scolding from Mommy for disrupting the game by throwing the balls away.
I had so much fun and had so many presents that when Yi Po, Po Po etc. started to leave, I told them "Bryan's not sleepy yet." "Don't go." And then later to my Mommy & Daddy, "Want to do Christmas party again."
